Preparing Recyclables 

Newspapers:  Do not tie up or put in bags.  Put in bins loose.
Plastic containers:  Rinse well and remove tops. 
Glass containers, aluminum cans, Styrofoam trays:  Rinse thoroughly.  Leave loose.  No lids.
Call the recyclers if you have questions about what’s accepted or how to prepare it.

Bailey Road by Ybor Alvarez Park    (by county building)

On Pine Grove Rd. beside Dave Turner Plumbing (off A1A)  

Yulee:
Goodbread Rd.  From US Hwy. 17 go east on Pages Dairy Rd., turn at first left on Goodbread  Rd.    Drop-off site is on right before the ballpark.  

Callahan:
Between Health Dept. & County Building  
County Landfill
, 3 miles north of A1A on US 1  

Hilliard:
Across from Town Hall and the Library  

Bryceville:
In front of the Bryceville Community Center at US 301 & County Road 119  

Other Key Recycling Locations in the County:

ARC – Nassau   - US Hwy. 17, 1 mile north of A1A in Yulee – 225-9355.  For cardboard, aluminum cans, paper, newspapers.   Other items, such as clothes, are no longer accepted.  If you are a business with large volume, call ARC - Nassau to arrange pick-up.

North Jax Recycling - Fernandina -- at the corner of 8th and Lime Streets – 261-4498.  For non-ferrous metals and magazines. 

Habitat for Humanity - Nassau  – 277-0600.  Look for collection bins for aluminum cans at grocery stores, discount stores, car dealerships, etc.  Habitat also recycles printer cartridges: call to obtain postage-paid envelopes or for pick-up, or for more information.

Publix – Styrofoam trays & egg cartons, plastic grocery bags (all stores), brown paper bags

Did You Know… Did You Know…  

  • If every family and business recycled all recyclable materials, trash going to the landfill would be reduced by 75% (in weight).  This would also save millions of dollars in county landfill costs.  
  • Recycling one aluminum can saves the amount of energy to light one 100 watt bulb for 20 hours.

What Residents Can Dispose of at the County’s Landfill….for free  

Residents can dispose of the following household items at the landfill:

  • 4 tires/year (additional tires are $2 each) 
  • Appliances (“white goods”),  one/year
  • Furniture, other household goods – no limit on amount 
  • Used motor oil, car batteries – no limit
