Welcome to the Sierra Club!
The Sierra Club is a national organization dedicated to explore, enjoy, and protect the planet. Our local Northeast Florida Group organizes and participates in outdoor adventures, environmental education, and lobbies our local and state government for pro-environmental legislation.
Twice a month, our group conducts meetings in Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach. Speakers discuss diverse subjects such as snake and insect bites, the importance of barrier islands, manatee habitat, creating walkable communities, encroaching urban sprawl, and so on.
We hope you enjoy looking at our site. Feel free to come to one of our meetings or join us on an outing!
Sierra Club in Audio!
Listen to us in AUDIO recordings on the web!
- The Sierra Club at Tangerine Fest from spring 2008 (We're about two-thirds of the way through the recording)
- Listen to members Linda Bremer (former Conservation Chair) and Group Chair Tom Larson on Jacksonville's NPR station WJCT addressing the proposal for St. Johns River Water Withdrawal. Hear more on this matter at WJCT's Listen Online.

All are welcome to attend our monthly General Meetings!
In Jacksonville, we meet at the Lakewood Presbyterian Church, 2001 University Blvd. W., just east of San Jose Blvd., west of I-95 & US-1. Click here for a map and directions of how to get there. Second Monday of each month, 7pm (6:30 for social time).
In Ponte Vedra Beach, we meet at the St. Johns County PVB Branch Library, 101 Library Blvd., just off A1A south of Solana Rd. Click here for a map and directions of how to get there! First Monday of each month, 6:30pm. Please check our calendar to confirm meeting dates, as occasionally other library priorities and holidays may change the schedule. The November meeting will be held on November 17 so we do not conflict with the library's early voting site responsibilities.
