Blue Winged Teal We suggest a $5 donation for our outings; however, prices may vary. Please reserve early with the outing leaders!

 

All participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver. Read a copy of the waiver before the outing.  Overnight camping trips also require campsite and parking fees and an additional donation of at least $5.

Caladesi Island State Park Sunset Sea Kayak Trip
Saturday, Oct. 4. Moderate two-hour paddle to observe the sunset. Bring snacks and drinks. Learn about the history, birds and other wildlife on the island. Optional dinner afterwards at a local restaurant. Reserve with Rudy Scheffer at 727-726-8375 or rudy@adventuresworldwide.com (Suncoast)

Fisheating Creek Camping Paddle
Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11-12 (Palmdale, north of LaBelle). Strenuous paddle for the experienced paddler who wants a true wilderness experience. This is one of the most pristine areas through which to paddle in SW Florida. Cypress trees that overhang this creek provide partial shade. You can jump in the shallow water along the way to cool down, but we will also see many gators! We will paddle upstream, primitive-camp along the river Saturday night and paddle back on Sunday. Moon Over Sarasota South Lido Native Plant Walk
Sunday, Oct. 12, 5- 8 p.m. Bring a dish to feed eight, your table service, drink, bug-protective clothing and repellant to South Lido Park for a potluck dinner. Afterwards we will walk through the coastal habitat restoration project to a point with a wonderful view of the pass, Sarasota Bay and a moon over the city, a little more than a mile of uneven footing. Reserve by Oct. 11 with Mary at 941-752-3200.

Woolverton Trail Kayak
Sunday, Oct. 12, 9 a.m. A great trail to paddle with over a mile of mangrove trails, scenic island and bay paddling, lunch and swim on an island sandy beach. Located about an hour’s drive from Sarasota on Gasparilla Sound. Kayak rentals available. Reserve with Don Kirkley at 941-493-3085.

Bicycle Bash by the Bay
Sunday, Oct 19. Come to the festival at the Vinoy in St. Pete and join us in a ride celebrating bicycling as a source of exercise and transportation. Learn bicycling tips; riders will learn that urban bicycling is fun. Reserve with Ben Berauer at 727-392-2821 or bfberauer@aol.com (Suncoast)

Oscar Scherer State Park Walk
Saturday, Oct. 25, 8 a.m. Five-mile (3-hour) walk. Wear wettable shoes, carry water, sunscreen, lunch if your time allows. Reserve with Sally at 941-484-4113.

Women’s Weeki Wachee Kayak
Friday, Oct 31. Join our annual Halloween paddle down this beautiful crystal clear river where fish, playful otters and ghostly manatees will keep us company. We will explore some of the problems caused by the rapid development of this area. Cost about $35 to rent kayaks. Please reserve a spot at least a week in advance. Thursday, Nov. 27, 8:30 a m. Four-to-six-mile (3-hour) walk. Wear wettable shoes, carry water, sunscreen. Optional: bring a dish to share for Thanksgiving potluck by the river. Reserve by Nov. 23 with Sally at 941-484-4113.
