All participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver. Read a copy of the waiver before the outing. Overnight camping trips also require campsite and parking fees and an additional donation of at least $5.
Hike at Myakka
Thursday, Nov. 26. 8 a.m. Four- to six-mile walk at
Myakka State Park followed by potluck lunch beside the river. Wear
sturdy wettable shoes and bring water, sunscreen and a dish to share.

Canoe on the Suwannee River
Friday, Nov. 27, to Sunday, Nov. 29. Learn why this is
one of the most popular paddling trips, as we discover springs, wildlife
and natural Florida. Primitive camping along a sandy white river beach.
Rentals available. There will be the cost of a shuttle depending on
group size. Limit 10 participants. This is an easy to moderate trip.

Backpack to Bee Island
Saturday, Nov. 28, to Sunday, Nov. 29. 11-mile loop
trail in Myakka River State Park. Discover and explore a Florida
grassland prairie park and learn how it is being restored. We camp under

Mound Key Kayak
Sunday, Nov. 29. 10 a.m. Mound Key, in Estero Bay, was
the main village for the Calusa tribe in ancient times and boasts two of
the highest shell mounds in Florida. It also has some of the area’s most
unusual vegetation with some of the largest gumbo limbo trees to be

Jelks Preserve Hike
Saturday, Dec. 5, 8 a.m.
3.5-mile walk at Jelks Preserve. Wear sturdy, wettable shoes and bring

Deer Prairie Creek Preserve Hike
Saturday, Dec. 5.
Six- to 7-mile hike on recently opened trails of one of Sarasota
County’s newest environmentally sensitive lands. Bring water, sun

Stump Pass Hike
Sunday, Dec. 6,
9-11:30 a.m. Learn about the plants, animals and ecology of the Stump
Pass area with biologist Bill Dunson. Reserve with Allain Hale,

Pinellas Trail Morning Bike Ride
Sunday, Dec 6.
Easy 18-mile ride from Curlew to Tarpon Springs for a Greek meal. Learn
about the Pinellas Trail, a linear park stretching almost the length of

Robinson Preserve Kayak
Sunday, Dec. 13, 9:30 a.m.
This nearly 500-acre preserve in northwest Bradenton is home to a family
of bald eagles which we might see as we paddle. We’ll continue into
Palma Sola Bay to Gilligan’s Island for lunch. We’ll also climb a
50-foot tower to get a great view of the preserve and bay. Bring lunch,

Linger Lodge Paddle

Our annual holiday paddle and lunch at Linger Lodge on the Braden River.

A moderate hike of about 30 miles over five days. Limit: 8 participants.
